Oregon\nPeace Institute Statement on President\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s racist attacks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n PORTLAND, OR – The Board of Directors of the Oregon Peace Institute (OPI) condemns in the strongest terms the vile attacks by President Donald J. Trump on U.S. Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. Not only did the President refuse to apologize or retract those statements, he built on them leading to a chilling \u00e2\u20ac\u0153send her back\u00e2\u20ac\u009d chant at a campaign rally on July 17, 2019. We are ashamed by these attacks. They are not only un-American and repulsive, they create real dangers of violence against people of color, particularly women of color, who voice dissent.
